Orlando City is continuing in their commitment to improving youth soccer in Central Florida by providing youth club development services. ACYS is the first youth club to begin this program to progress their competitive division, Spirit United.
“We are so excited to have a professional team here in Orlando and the opportunity for our club to benefit from their expertise,” said Ken Caeners, president of ACYS. We look forward to seeing how working together we will strengthen the soccer community as a whole as well as our club individually. The future looks bright.”
This full service program focuses on four key points: club leadership, program development, club communication, and coach supervision. City’s work with ACYS starts at the top with club leadership and working through the ranks to coaches, managers, players and parents. Collectively, Orlando City and ACYS will develop a clear direction and vision for their competitive soccer programs. Spirit United members will undergo new education and training with the new vision in mind, all the while gaining the communications and administrative tools that are necessary to progress a competitive youth club
Finally, the project ends with club supervision. Through camps and clinics, Orlando City will train the ACYS coaches in proper coaching methods that range from skill development, team tactics, practice management and injury prevention.
The ACYS project is just the beginning for Orlando City’s youth development program. If you would like more information or would like your youth club to be involved, contact Brian Pederson at bpederson@orlandocitysoccer.com or 407-536-5143.
