Frequently asked questions about registration
Where do I begin? You will first begin by determining what age group is correct for your child. Age groups are determined by a child’s date of birth per the FYSA (Fl Youth Soccer Assoc) guidelines. Please refer to the age group chart below. Secondly, you have to determine if your child is playing for a pariticular school, church or neighborhood team. Several large Christian schools in the area register teams with ACYS. If your school is listed as a it’s own program when registering then you should choose your school program. Many of the schools have their own fee structure and may be different from our general registration fees. If you are not with a listed school and would like to register as an individual looking for a team or a member of an individual neighborhood team then you should choose "other" and type in the name of your school, church or team. ACYS will do our best to find individuals a team closest to their home when available. If we are unable to offer your child a team you will be offered a full refund.
When is my child’s practice time and where will it be held? This is the single most common question from new registrants. If you are a member of a school team the school’s athletic administrator will typcially organize the practice schedule for teams and the coach will contact you with the details. Practices are typically after school or in the early evening based on coach and facility availabilty. They usually last between 1 - 2 hours based on age group. Non-School teams typically practice after normal business hours and around the coaches schedule. Coaches will usually consult with the team to determine a suitable time that works for everyone.
What age groups are offered and what is the cost? See the age group chart. "General Registration" is for individuals and teams not displayed as one of our particular schools listed. Please note the cost of school programs is slightly more as administration fees for the schools are applied. All administration fees collected on behalf of partciular schools are forwarded to the school on the registrants behalf. If you belong to a school and plan to participate as such you must choose the school program when registering.
