AC Milan's Brazilian soccer star Kaka was named Europe's footballer of
the year after winning France Football magazine's Golden Ball
award.
Kaka said "I learn that it is faith that decides whether
something will happen or not." He removed his jersey to
reveal an "I Belong to Jesus" T-shirt and openly engaged in
prayer moments after the final whistle of Milan's 2007
Champions League triumph. Kaka previously sported the same
shirt during Milan's 2004 Scudetto celebration and after
Brazil's defeat of Germany in the 2002 World Cup final, and
had the same phrase, along with "God Is Faithful," stitched
onto the tongues of his boots. What a testimony and role
model for our coaches and players!
ACYS Mission Statement
Our mission is to glorify God by developing and operating sports
programs based on biblical principals where young people can learn
Christian values by participating in a healthy, competitive environment.
ACYS Philosophies
Open Registration -
Our program is open to all children ages 4 through 13 who want to
register. Interest, enthusiasm, and a good attitude are the only
criteria for playing.
Positive Coaching -
We believe that winning is more than the score at the end of the game.
It begins with an attitude of caring and understanding. We encourage
our coaches, referees, and parents to make an extra effort to offer
positive help and encouragement to our players, rather than negative
criticism.
Everyone Plays -
Our goal is for everyone to have fun playing. We want all of our
players to have an ample opportunity to do so. We mandate that every
player on each team play at least one half of every game.
Good Sportsmanship -
We desire to create a healthy, competitive environment based on
Christian values, rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude. All of our
programs are designed and intended to instill good sportsmanship into
every facet of ACYS.
